Our History
Waiheke Gym Club was formed in 2002 and operated for the first 18 months as a recreational gym class from Te Huruhi School hall.
In 2004 the club moved to the new Recreation centre that opened that year at Waiheke high School.We started off with only a small amount of junior competitve gymnasts in the new premises and over the next few years developed programmes around the needs of the community and now operate 4 days a week,offering both recreational and junior competitive gymnastics.
In 2006 we officially became "Waiheke Gmnastics Club Incorporated" and had our 1st AGM with more than 3 members!!
We now have a membership of 120 children,coaches and officials and are the biggest childrens sports club on Waiheke.We are considered to be 1 of the best junior competition clubs in Aucklands.In the last 3 years our gymnasts have had oustanding results both as individuals and in Team events.On several occasions winning 1st overall in Auckland Junior Competitions.
Our aim is to promote gymsports and provide the opportunity for every child in the community to participate in our programme at some stage of their development.
