Programmes
~ Play Gym Our Early Childhood Gymnastics Programmes are movement learning programmes for the parent and the child aged 1 to 4 1/2 years old.
~ Kiwi Gym Fun Recreational classes are based on a General Gymnastics approach that is fun, challenging and fundamental for a child's growth and development. General Gymnastics provides a sound basis for further skills development across all aspects of the physical education programme. Participants learn the Dominant Movement Patterns which include jumping and landing skills, rolling, balance while still or moving, travelling and use of body parts in a controlled way are fundamental movement abilities required for work, sport and recreational activities. For children aged 4 1/2 to 9 years old.
~ Incentive Awards NZGS incentive awards is a series of sequences graduated into 7 levels from Grade One to Elite. The activities have been selected to encourage both boys and girls to become more proficient in general gymnastics skills, in the hope that more will continue to participate in gymnastics activities through to adulthood. This class will be best suited for those aged 9 - 11 that are just starting out in gymnastics or those aged 8 to 10 years old who are looking for something more than our regular recreation programme.
~ Womens Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) This programme allows for a more formal degree of gymnastics training in the specific areas of girl's artistic gymnastics. Gymnasts work progressively through levels (commencing at level 1) and have the opportunity to compete in competitions. Gymnasts are assessed to enter this programme. All gymnasts participating in Women's Artistic Gymnastics will enter using the National Development Programmes.
The programme has been designed to cater for a large variation in potential, providing the gymnast with options best suited to their capabilities.
~ Mens Artistics Gymnastics (MAG) This programme allows for a more formal degree of gymnastics training and follows the GymSport New Zealand National Programme. The introductory competition is Levels 0, 1 and 2, which provides 3 progressive levels and allows a gradual, no pressure introduction to gymnastics.
The programme has been designed to cater for a large variation in potential, providing the gymnast with options best suited to their capabilities.
