Womens Artistics Gymnastics (WAG)
Women's Artistic Gymnastics is both graceful and extremely powerful in it's appearance. It involves competing on four apparatus the Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise.
To be a competitive gymnast it takes time to develop first strength and flexibility then co-ordination, spatial awareness and discipline. Attention to basics training is essential to ensure gymnasts have the correct technique to safely and efficiently perform more difficult skills in the future.
At Waiheke Gymnastics we aim to provide an opportunity to all gymnasts to achieve to their maximum potential.
WAG Junior Levels Programme 1-3
C Programme (1C, 2C, 3C, open)
The Junior Levels Programme is an ability based competitive programme, commencing at level one and become progressively harder. Gymnasts are assessed into the programme and move at their own pace through the levels. At the present time we are unable to offer B and A levels .We hope to be able to offer these in the near future.
Gymnasts learn skills and routines on the traditional girls artistic apparatus: vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise.
Once the skills and routines are attained competently, they may move to the next C level. The Open grade is for girls 12 years and older wanting to stay at introductory level with greater ability/skill level than level 3C.

The focus in term 1 is on skill development, and for term 4, badge work/displays.
Commitment to the programme and good behavior is expected at all times.Any one disrupting training on a regular basis will be moved to a recreation programme.
